Trade Cluster-Session on Standards at Women’s Week, 2018

Theme: Pay attention to standards and cross barriers to profitable agricultural markets

Background:

Women, no doubt, feed the planet. In Uganda majority are employed in the agricultural sector. Ironically, only a few take their produce to the market. But which markets? Do the markets have minimum requirements? Are the women informed about them? Profitable markets demand high standards.

Session objective:

To raise awareness about the relevance of food and agriculture standards in accessing profitable markets.

Expected results

A stronger conviction to support women in paying attention to food and agriculture standards.
