About the event
The roundtable discussion will bring together experts and participants in ICT, in particular from private and public sector institutions, App developers, representatives from Boda Boda association, Government agencies NGO’s and academia. The topics will cover the entire gamut of digitization of transport system activity. The discussion will promote awareness on the impact and required action regarding digitisation of the transport sector, opportunities and the necessary measures for embracing the technology, with a view to facilitating the transition to more sustainable and resilient friendly operations. The roundtable discussion will also serve as a forum for dialogue among all relevant stakeholders and an effective platform for national policy makers to structure and adopt a holistic approach to confronting the issues at the interface of digitizing the transport sector in Uganda.
The main objective of the Roundtable discussion is an informed expert dialogue that assists in unlocking the impacts of digitalizing transport in Kampala as well as to better understand the linkages of digitizing the transport sector to economic development in Uganda.
The discussions will focus on the following objectives:
- Enhance information and knowledge on issues at the interface of digitization of the transport sector in general, and establish the framework for sustainable digital transport sector.
- Promote the exchange of knowledge and experience from those already in the business on suitable policy approaches and policy tools to foster digitations of the transport sector in Uganda.
