Public concerns and recommendations towards improving service delivery in the Health, Education and Agriculture Sectors at Local Government level

 

ACTADE implemented a 3- year project, the Citizen Voice and Action (CVA) project, with support from the Democratic Governance Facility (DGF). The project aimed at supporting demand-side governance by strengthening spaces for alternative voices and views on governance. It is aimed at contributing to inclusive and effective public decision making for improved service delivery in the sectors of Education, Health and Agriculture. This issue paper is a compilation of public concerns and recommendations for service delivery improvements in the Health, Education and Agriculture sectors during the year 2020. The paper reviews and analyses Ministerial policy statements for Financial Years (FY) 2018/19 and 2019/20; the Local Government Budget Framework papers for FY2017/18 and FY2018/19; and the district budget performance reports for FY2018/19 and FY2019/20. Additional information is extracted from ACTADE district monitoring reports of 2020 and citizens' perspectives documented in reports of activities implemented in the year 2020.
