Susan Nanduddu

Executive Director

Susan Nanduddu is the Executive Director of ACTADE since August 2015. Until then, she had served for over a year as a Board member of ACTADE. She is a development practitioner who has worked on various development topics including sustainable transport, good governance, climate change adaptation and green cities. She previously worked as an independent consultant, and as a staff of the Development Network of Indigenous Voluntary Associations (DENIVA).


Susan has over 15 years of continuous experience in development work in Uganda primarily with civil society organisations with regular engagements with government and private sector at all levels. Her core interest is in building resilience to climate change. Susan holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi. She enjoys farming during her free time.

Viola Musiimenta

Director of Programmes

Viola Musiimenta is a Director of Programmes at African Centre for Trade and Development (ACTADE). She has wide professional experience in NGO management and managing development projects. She has over 15 years’ experience of managing advocacy oriented programmes working with small scale farmers and other vulnerable groups through enhancing their capacities to improve their livelihoods. She has facilitated the development and implementation of advocacy programmes looking at the inter-connectedness of agriculture, Trade, climate change, food security, and education.

Viola has previously worked with one of the biggest NGO Networks in Uganda- Development Network of Indigenous Voluntary Associations (DENIVA) as an Officer in charge of Poverty Reduction and Livelihood Improvement Programmes. She has also worked as a consultant on Organizational Development and development of livelihood improvement programmes. She holds a bachelors in agribusiness management from Makerere University and a masters in development studies from Uganda Martyrs University-Nkonzi.

Allen Lunkuse

Programme Officer

Allen Lunkuse is currently working as a Programme Officer at ACTADE under Participatory Governance Programme. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities in working with diversities over the past seven years through which she has worked in Bunyoro region and the Central region of Uganda.


Allen was a member of the Youth for Policy (Y4P), an initiative by Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Before joining ACTADE, she worked as a volunteer with Voluntary Action for Development (VAD) under the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH) Programme.

Allen knows what drives sustainable development to be the empowerment of communities to take centre stage and over the years, she has garnered vast experience in Project Planning and Management, capacity building, documentation, budget analysis and policy advocacy. She has contributed towards increasing the resource envelope and supported in redefining ACTADE’s strategic direction and innovating towards inclusive development in ACTADE’s work. She is results-oriented and passionate about sustainable trade for improved livelihoods.
Allen is a certified Development worker with a Bachelor of Development Studies Degree from Kyambogo University.

Sandra Coote

Programme Officer

Coote Sandra is a Programme Officer at ACTADE facilitating citizen participation in public decision making in the central region of Uganda, covering two districts of Mityana and Mubende She is in charge of coordinating the Civic Education and Capacity Building activities portfolio in the project area. This body of work is geared towards empowering citizens and creating a citizen’s agency that constructively engages with their leaders making the latter more responsive and accountable to the public, spurring for better service delivery. Sandra uses a lot of and has horned her experiences in using participatory approaches and strategies coupled with use of modern IT processes that amplify the work she does through radio and social media. She has contributed to various issue papers to inform advocacy.


Sandra started working in 2014 as a social media manager supporting large organizations like, Uganda Debt Network (UDN) and ACFODE to enhance visibility of their work through their social media platforms and other media houses. She is passionate about brands and visibility.
Sandra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems and Technology and a Diploma in Computing and Information Systems. She is currently pursuing a post-graduate diploma in Project Planning a Management.

Joyce Ageno

Administrative Assistant

Joyce Ageno has previously worked with Transcultural psychosocial organization (TPO) Ugandan an NGO based that works in partnership with communities, civil society, private sector and government to empower communities and I was based in Amudat, katawi and kaberamaido as finance and administrative officer.

She has experience in financial management, financial reporting, audit, human resource management and administration.

Currently Joyce is  working with ACTADE under LIFE-AR project  majorly coordinating between ACTADE and Ministry of Water and Environment programs in terms of ensuring that there is proper accountability of the funds used, assist in organizing meeting and submitting of request for payment.
